Playa Tamarindo:
Is the main beach in the district of the same name, and is one of the most renowned tourist destinations in Costa Rica and one of the most accessible in the northern region of the country. It is located in the bay of Tamarindo, within the Las Baulas National Marine Park.
It is distinguished by its gentle waves and crystal clear waters, although with strong currents and sparsely submerged rocks, with yellowish sand, exuberant vegetation, reefs and landscape in general. It is shaped like an arch and has a slight slope, therefore safety for bathers is very good.
It is suitable for various activities such as hiking, fishing, surfing, etc. As Tamarindo is a Wildlife Refuge, it protects the spawning of the leatherback, olive ridley and green turtles, which arrive in arrival between the months of October to March. The park offers exhibition room facilities, general information, drinking water, latrines, trails and local guides.
